YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO! YO! Yo..... :iconbadassplz:

Okay, I don't know why I went all Cryme Tyme there, but a warm hearty welcome to each and every one of you and thanks very much for stopping by to check out my stuff. It's always appreciated. :iconthumbsupplz:

Now, if you've been reading my journals on a regular basis, you'd probably know that I've been a bit slack in updating everyone as of late. Heck, I don't really think you could call me sharing a poem from the great Banjo Patterson, in celebration of Australia Day, any sort of update at all.

So, where have I been these past three weeks? To be honest, not a whole lot has gone on aside from a few camera snaps, occasional program testing and Minecraft madness (the latter of which I won't delve into), as well as constant updates with my university. So, where shall I begin...?

First of all, it's about time I gave everyone a small reprieve from my weird writing and instead delve a little into my other occasional hobby of photography. During the Australia Day of three weeks past, I had a golden opportunity to snap some shots of wild lorikeets helping themselves to some birdseed in my back garden, thanks to a project my dad completed a few months back.

It took some careful movement, silent positioning and a rather long, unwieldy lens, but in the end, I was able to snap close to THIRTY shots of those simply gorgeous birds, with a fair percentage of them coming out splendid. It was only now I performed some edits and adjustments to particular photos to at least get a bit more clarity and colour, but more on that later.

I will be posting them here in due course so hopefully you can enjoy them when they do show up. Some photos were a bit out-of-whack due to motion and lighting issues, but I think in the end, I did alright. :)

Next on the agenda, the program testing. About two weeks ago I discovered Cyberlink and the various programs they had under their "Director's Suite", consisting of PowerDirector 13, AudioDirector 5, ColorDirector 3 and PhotoDirector 6; a veritable buffet of editing possibilities.

I mostly tested out PowerDirector on some personal projects that I gathered over the years... Needless to say, with the mountains of effects and transitions available for trial use, not mentioning the hundreds of thousands of available items to download from DirectorZone, I was left real impressed, despite the occasional issues with stability, and even a point where the program crashed dozens of times in hours. I do believe there's something that has been resolved, but I can't say for sure.

I was absolutely considering the purchase of all four programs, especially after giving PhotoDirector a chance to adjust some photos I took, and giving AudioDirector and ColorDirector a spin while editing or watching my videos. However, I have one problem: university. Believe it or not, my near five months worth of holidays are coming to an end, and while I spend a majority of the week off, I'm pretty certain I'm gonna be studying at the library in my spare time. Mondays will be ruthless, with a 10AM start and 6PM finish, with just ONE one-hour break to enjoy. :iconuhohplz:

Needless to point out, I don't want to throw down $200 on a set of programs that I may have no time to enjoy. I just know, in what could possibly be my last year at La Trobe University, that shit is gonna get real. It pains me too, because I do think with those programs that I'll be able to look at "Project Milestone", a series of animated achievements to celebrate progress on DA. Full voice-acting, animation and whatever else to add... Fingers crossed it comes to plan, but there's no telling. :iconfingerscrossedplz:

Speaking of university, they continue to make changes that just seem pointless to me, like moving our old email system to Office 365, which just means extra steps to checking the inbox. I was also muddled about when one of my original subjects was moved to Semester 2; a shame since I wanted to partake in it.

Will this double degree actually lead me anywhere in the next two to five years? The way this world is going, I just have no idea... But hey, it could always make for more poetry down the line. :)

That's about it for now, so let me just say thanks if you were patient enough to slog through these entire ramblings. As always, keep an eye out for more poetry and PC computer projects and I shall see you soon. :D
