The Id 10 T Errors, by David Nicholas

The power of tech
Stretches beyond limitless
Imagination

It’s only too bad
We never get that memo
Though I’ll keep up hope

Take for example
Those inventions from past time
And how it’s used now

Gaming has leapt forward
From simple, on-screen white dots
To pure wizardry.

And yet games don’t change
Rehashed, recycled, restrained
For sales matter most.

Our own World Wide Web
An endless knowledge resource
With just one small click.

Yet we share selfies
Muddle with memes, or provoke
Pointless arguments.

Now how ‘bout those phones?
There’s apps for global shake ups
All in your hand’s palm

And what do we do?
Film fights, view Vines, crush candy?
You must be joking.

Here’s my heartfelt plea
Don’t squander this precious tech
For it’s our future.
New piece of poetry! :typerhappy:

Now while technology and science advances at incredible rates and our very concept of living is turned on its head, it seems that a large portion of Earth doesn't utilise the full potential of these new gadgets. I mean, could one have even imagined using a smartphone with an on board computer, brimming with creative and useful programs, 20 years ago?

The internet, oh man, where do I begin? It's a resource that has given us a supreme source of information, for whatever your calling happens to be. Need some snappy rhymes? Go to WikiRhymer or RhymeZone. Wikipedia's there for all your encyclopaedic needs (well, most of the time). New careers and ventures bloom with the advent of Youtube, DeviantART and whatever else one can imagine.

And don't get me started on games... All I'll say is look how far they've come in just 40 years! :o

Anyway, this is kind of a lament and a plea in haiku form to get out there and really take advantage of this incredible digital world. I know it won't happen overnight, maybe not in the next 20 years, but I'll always retain my hope.

That's enough of my rambling... Did you enjoy this latest haiku piece? Any improvements, comments, critiques, or general chat? You know where to sound off. I'd like to thank you guys for reading, but for right now, I'm outta here, so peace! :peace:

I absolutely can understsand what you mean. It is a pity how we are using technology. Technology that can offer you just more :/
I really like your poem because it is thoughtful and made your reader think about they way they use technology or sciences :)
