Shopping, by David Nicholas…

Survey, spend and save
Plazas & markets we pave
For those hidden sales.

How do you folks shop?
Are you thrifty or cream crop?
The line’s drawn somewhere.

Malls open their gates
For all distinct tastes and traits
To help kick off trade.

Perhaps you like clothes?
Scan for shirts and skirts I s’pose
And some comfy shoes.

Is food a good call?
Buy full meals or coffees tall
To sate one’s cravings.

Guess gaming’s your thing
When new consoles pull your strings
They’re hard to resist.

‘Lest you hunt for toys
To reign in your girls and boys
For fears of tantrums

Would you flip for flicks?
Theatres slather ‘em thick
Hurry, popcorn’s there!

If one must be iced
Rings, chains and watches entice
At the jeweller’s joint.

Now for the odd ones
Which include banks, nails and hair
My rhymes now end there.

For the rich or poor
For one's needs or for grandeur
Praise our humble malls.

As a regular weekend outing, exploring your local plaza can be quite a treat whether you're an avid shopper or a casual browser of goods. It's a veritable buffet of goods waiting to be sampled by a discerning public, and I hope I've captured that very atmosphere with this latest haiku, based from my personal experiences.

As always, feel free to leave comments and critiques below and I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Looking forward to your thoughts! :D
