Day at the Laundromat, by David Nicholas…
The day has arrived
Down to my last pair of briefs
And my socks stand up
Down the stairs to spend
Cash on cleans in place of snacks
Better starved than bare
The washer beckons
Clothes split into shades and washed
With dust or cleanser
The dryer calls next
To leave our clothes crisp and clean
Set to fold or iron
That’s the gist of it
Not pretty by any stretch
It is what it is
The day has arrived
Down to my last pair of briefs
And my socks stand up
Down the stairs to spend
Cash on cleans in place of snacks
Better starved than bare
The washer beckons
Clothes split into shades and washed
With dust or cleanser
The dryer calls next
To leave our clothes crisp and clean
Set to fold or iron
That’s the gist of it
Not pretty by any stretch
It is what it is

Another day, another haiku piece, and this time, it reflects off my experience of living alone and studying at the University of Alaska... Needless to say, if it weren't for music or games or other forms of entertainment, this'd easily be the most boring day of the schedule.
Hopefully, I've at least tried to put a light-hearted spin on it, but hey, not up to me to decide. Please feel free to leave behind comments and critiques and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, have a good one!
